Annotation
This VDI guideline is intended for use by those persons in producing enterprises who are responsible for the company-specific implementation of the legal regulations of waste management.
Purpose of the VDI guideline
The VDI guideline aims to be a reference for beginners in building up an organisation, defining flows of materials and information, training employees, and thus implementing logistic of waste disposal. It is a tool for the company's waste management officer and gives guidance both in the settlement of responsibility matters and the detection of the potential for cost reduction.
The VDI guideline supplements ordinances and technical rules such as the regulation on the transport of hazardous goods on roads [Gefahrgutverordnung Stra?e (GGVS)], the regulation on flammable liquids [Verordnung uber brennbare Flussigkeiten (VbF)] and pertinent technical rules (RbF), the technical rules for hazardous substances [Technische Regeln fur Gefahrstoffe (TRGS)], the 4th Ordinance on the Implementation of the Federal Immission Control Act (4. BImSchV), and the Working Place Ordinance [Arbeitsstattenverordnung (ArbStattV)].
