Annotation
Within the scope of facility management, building automation is the most important tool for technical building management (TBM). This guideline is intended to provide to the building operator an overview of the fundamental requirements, potentials and fields of application of BA for TBM. BA comprises devices, installations and software for automatic open- and closed-loop control of the BS systems. Thus, it ensures
- process-oriented,
- comfortable and
- energy- and cost-optimised operation.
Data and items of information required by facility or building management for service processes and tasks during the operation of a property or building are recorded, processed, edited and archived by an integrated planning, control, information and archival system (CAFM). Many of these data and items of information are recorded and processed by a BA system and can be made available to the IT systems in use via suitable interfaces.
CAFM is to be understood as the collective of IT systems used as tools in facility management. The actual specifics of a CAFM system depend on the individual requirements of the underlying organisation and the goals pursued by using the system. Owing to the wide scope of applications (various branches of industry, public authorities, property management, hospitals, etc.) a like variability exists in the specifics of CAFM systems. Figure 1 is an overview of the software systems that can be integrated in a CAFM system.
