COOPERATION AGREEMENT
in the Field of Environment Protection Between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of State for Environment Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of State for Environment Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic hereinafter referred to as the Parties,
Taking into consideration the necessity of the protection and enhancement of the environment for the present and future generations,
Considering that development and support of legal, institutional and technical cooperation in the field of environment will strengthen relations between both countries,
Considering that due to the similarity of environmental problems in both countries, the most effective solutions could be achieved through bilateral cooperation,
Taking into account the adopted principles and recommendations of the UNCED held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and of the WSSD held in Johannesburg in 2002
Have agreed as follows:
