FOREWORD

This digest of State Boiler and Pressure Vessel Rules and Regulations is published to provide information to assist the refining and chemical process industries operating in the United States and Puerto Rico. The digest was compiled under the direction of the Ad Hoc Steering Committee for the Regulatory Action Program of the API Committee on Refinery Equipment.

THE SUMMARY OF BOILER AND PRESSURE VESSEL LAWS AND REGULATIONS IS PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATION AND NOT AS A BASIS FOR COMPLIANCE.

THIS DIGEST MAY BE USED BY ANYONE DESIRING TO DO SO.
