Compact Steel Gate Valves-Extended Body - Third Edition

Annotation
This standard covers compact steel gate valves that have an integral or welded male extension suitable for direct attachment as a branch connection. Valves shall conform to all requirements for Class 800 or Class 1500 valves specified in API Standard 602, except as specifically modified in this standard.
Valves shall be furnished male by female in NPS ?, ?, 1, 1?, and 2 (corresponding to ASME B36.10M or ASME B36.19M) and in NPS ? male by NPS ? female.
One end of the valve shall have a threaded or socket-welding female connection. The other end shall have a male extension. (Threaded-end male extensions are not permitted for Class 1500 or for NPS ? in Class 800.)
The sketches in Tables 1 and 2 show some of the requirements of this standard, as well as variations in commercial design on which the purchaser may exercise a choice. These illustrations are based on currently available designs. They should not be considered preferable to other designs that may be offered, if the other designs conform to the requirements of this standard and API Standard 602.
