Annotation

Coverage. This specification covers casing, tubing, and tubing pup joints (hereafter called pup joints) and connectors in the sizes and wall thicknesses applicable to the various grade of pipe as shown in the standard lists (Tables 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3), and the dimensional tables (Tables 6.1 through 6.6), including other sizes and weights of Grade C-90 casing and tubing as agreed upon between purchaser and manufacturer. ?Two grades of martensitic chromium steels containing nominally 9% Cr - 1% Mo and 13% Cr are included. It also includes requirements for couplings and thread protectors. All requirements given herein for casing and tubing shall apply to pup joints and connectors except as otherwise specified. Connectors are defined as a tubular section used for the purpose of 1) joining or changing from one size, weight, or type of threaded connection to the same or another size, weight, or type of threaded connection or 2) other application.

Dimensional requirements on threads and thread gages, stipulations on gaging practice, gage specifications and certification as well as instruments and methods for inspection of threads are given in API Std 5B and are applicable to products covered by this specification.
