Annotation

This standard specifies methods of preservation for Cylinder Blocks (With or Without Pistons) and Cylinder Heads, excluding aircraft engines, used on all Military Levels of Packaging. It is complementary to the current Services Packaging Instruction Sheet, (SPIS).

The components may be supplied with or without pistons and may have loose liners.

Note: As this applies to many similar items this is a Standard Family Specification (SFS), but unlike others it requires the use of a SPIS (if a packaging Military Level) or other document for the packaging itself as it only covers the preservation process.
