Annotation
The following structure and calculation rules apply to vertical, cylindrical, factory-fabricated fl at base tanks made of thermoplastics, in particular
• Polyvinyl chloride (PVC),
• Polypropylene (PP),
• Polyethylene (PE),
• Polyvinylidene fl uoride (PVDF).
The cylindrical casing with constant wall thickness or graduated wall thickness can be welded from panels, or consists of a spiral wound pipe or an extruded pipe. In addition to the hydrostatic loads, short and long-term pressures must be taken into consideration. The following minimum values have been determined:
Positive pressure: 0.0005 N/mm 2 (0.005 bar)
Negative pressure: 0.0003 N/mm 2 (0.003 bar)
The long-term pressures should only be applied if they can actually take eff ect.
Restriction of the main dimensions:
Tank diameter: d ? 4 m
Ratio: h/d ? 6 Minimum thickness: s = 4 mm
Responsibilities with regard to specifi c fi elds of law (for example building law, water law, Occupational Health and Safety Law, etc.) must be taken into account.
