Annotation

This standard deals with the laying of drains and sewers underground, including those passing under buildings, and the installation of associated manholes. It also applies to embedment backfilling work.

This standard does not cover

- the trenchwork associated with pipelaying and manhole construction (see DIN 18300),

- timbering to trenchwork (see DIN 18303),

- laying of pressure pipework (see DIN 18307),

- trenchless pipelaying (see DIN 18319),

- the building of in-situ concrete structures (see DIN 18331),

- the installation of drainage systems inside buildings (see DIN 18381),

- the laying of pipes passing through ductwork.

DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18306 shall take precedence.
