Annotation
The guidance note applies to trackside signalling power supplies 650 V power cables and their associated insulation monitoring equipment. TN systems are not considered.
The guidance note should be used by all maintenance staff when monitoring 650 V power cables.
It should be noted that this guidance note applies primarily to fixed insulation monitoring installations.
Purpose
The purpose of this guidance note is to provide general guidance to the maintainer on the management of signalling power supply cables and specific information on the application of insulation monitoring equipment.
