Annotation
This standard deals with the location (by surveying and probing) and recovery of ownerless unexploded ordnance, and any preparatory work (such as stump removal, wrecking or demolition) liable to be jeopardized by the presence of munitions. It also covers the removal of soil contaminated by unexploded ordnance and the hauling of the material recovered to the screening and processing areas on the site.
This standard does not cover the handling of munitions containing biological, chemical or nuclear fission materials.
DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18323 shall take precedence.
