Determination of diffusive emissions by measurements - Quantification of diffusive emissions of fine dust from industrial plants including agricultural sources
N VDI 4285 BLATT 3
Annotation
This standard describes methods for metrological determination and quantification of diffuse fine dust emissions such as PM10 and PM2,5 from industrial facilities including agricultural sources. This standard, therefore, complements and renders concrete the topics covered in VDI 4285 Part 1, which describes the fundamental principles of determining diffuse emissions. It presents source identification methods and various approached to determining the emission rate of relevant diffuse sources. Diffuse sources as defined in this standard include industrial facilities in which dust emissions from non-captured sources are released, as they occur for example in the facility’s exhaust air during production processes or during transhipment and transport of dust-forming materials. Equally, agricultural sources can be the cause of diffuse dust emissions. This can include both large animal husbandry buildings and cultivated fields.
This standard also allows the investigation of the substances making up the dust. It can also be applied to bioaerosols where direct methods are employed.
Note: Bacteria and mould fungi and their constituents are included under particles or occur bound to particles.
