Standard Practice for Pavement Condition Index Surveys for Interlocking Concrete Roads and Parking Lots
N E2840
Annotation
This practice is used to assess the condition of roads and parking lots surfaced with interlocking concrete pavement through visual surveys using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method of quantifying pavement condition.
The PCI for roads and parking lots was developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (1, 2). It is further verified and adopted by DOD and APWA. This standard is an adaptation of the PCI method for interlocking concrete pavements.
The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard.
