Standard Guide for Evaluating the Relative Effectiveness of Building Systems to Resist the Passage of Products of Combustion Based on the Aggregation of Leakage Rates
N E3021/E3021M
Annotation
This guide provides a method of evaluating the relative effectiveness of building systems to resist the passage of smoke.
The method of evaluating the relative effectiveness of a building system is based on the aggregation of leakage rates of openings, penetrations, joints and interfaces of the construction elements forming the building system.
Units-The values stated in either SI units or inchpound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.
This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
