Annotation

This Standard specifies the shapes, dimensions and indication system of the test specimens directly prepared by moulding from plastic materials as well as those prepared by machining from sheets or shaped articles.

If a particular type of test specimens is not mentioned in this Standard, this does not mean that there is any intention to exclude the use thereof.

NOTE 1 The aim of this Standard is to give the indication system, shapes and dimensions of multipurpose test specimens (see 4.2.1) used for the acquisition of comparable data specified in each material standard of plastics as well as other frequently used test specimens.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 20753 : 2008 Plastics - Test specimens (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
