Annotation

General

This annex contains additional information for the manufacture of thread outside Germany.

Owing to varying approving procedures, production methods, materials, etc. the details given in this standard for thread inserts are not always sufficient for manufacture abroad. For instance, materials are used which may well ensure the required characteristics for the standard part in its final state, but which are not listed as equivalent material in the relevant material specification in the German Aviation Materials Manual, Part I.

The foreign materials listed in DIN 29 895 (in preparation) are recognized as equivalent to the respective German material by the competent qualification authorities of the various countries.

The surface treatment required in clause 3 is equivalent to the one specified in LN 9368, Part 1 and Part 5.

Any difference in appearance, due to different manufacturing process, has no influence on the function and interchange-ability provided that the actual dimensions comply with the values given in table 1.
