Annotation

The following statements about the requirements on pallets for use as load carriers in mechanised and automated conveying and storage systems apply to reusable flat pallets as loading aids for in-house and external transport and storage. These comments can by applied analogously to pallets with superstructures.

In this context the following definitions of terms apply:

- Load carrier

Auxiliary means for the support of packaging goods and/or packing pieces for creating transportable and storable loading units

- Flat pallet

A pallet consisting of either two pallets or several top and bottom boards, which are connected by beams or logs; or of a construction using a single pallet or several top boards which are supported by beams or logs.

- Loading unit

A loading unit consists of the conveyed goods (packaged goods or packing piece) and the conveying device as a load carrier necessary for their aggregation (pallet, rack, container etc.).
