Annotation
This Standard specifies hubs to be used mainly for bicycles for general use, bicycles for young children, and motor assist cycles as defined in JIS D 9111. It is not applicable to those motor assist cycles whose auxiliary driving power unit is built into the hub, or motor assist cycles used for tricycles.
NOTE: International Standards corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows :

ISO 6697 : 1994 Cycles - Hubs and freewheels - Assembly dimensions
ISO 6698 : 1989 Cycles - Screw threads used to assemble freewheels on bicycle hubs

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21.
