Introduction

This guideline treats a selection of the most commonly used systems of continuous conveyors for piece goods.

The respective classification is made in accordance with DIN 15 201.

Purpose of this guideline

The target of this guideline is to give an overview of the drive technologies offered nowadays on the market, and put to practical use, and to enable the comprehensive examination of the selection criteria.

Designers and users are offered a list of possible requirement profiles of the conveyors, and, by means of a synopsis of special drive characteristics, assistance for the selection and security regarding the decisions taken.

The procedure for an appropriate selection in accordance with the requirements is demonstrated by means of an example.
