Dieser Teil der IEC 62481 beschreibt die DLNA-Medien-Format-Profile, anwendbar auf die DLNA-Ger teklassen nach IEC 62481-1. F r jede der folgenden Medienklassen sind Medien-Format-Profile festgelegt: Audio, Bild und Video. Dar ber hinaus sind die Profil-ID-Werte, die die Mediensammlungen und Drucker von XHTML-Dokumenten erkennen, auch eingebracht.
Die Profil-ID wird in einem Inhaltsverzeichnisdienst (CDS) des Servers verf gbar gemacht, um potenziell netzwerkf higen Abspielger ten und Wiedergabeger ten die Existenz eines Inhaltselements mit besonderer Codierung und Kompressionsmerkmalen zu signalisieren, gerade durch die festgelegte Profil-ID der Elemente.
