Annotation
This standard is applicable to equipment wires with solid or stranded conductor, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulated, in singles, pairs and triples.
Object
The object of this standard is to specify requirements for wires used :
- on one hand, for the internal wiring of telecommunication equipment, object of Section Two;
- on the other hand, for the internal wiring of industrial and consumer electronic equipment, object of Section Three.
General
This standard shall be used in conjunction with IEC Publication 189-1.
It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to establish quality assurance by quality control procedures which will ensure t h a t the product will meet the requirements of this standard. It is not intended t h a t a complete testing programme shalt be carried out on every length of conductor. When the purchaser wishes to specify acceptance tests or other quality procedures, it is essential that agreement be reached between the purchaser and the manufacturer by the time of ordering.
