Annotation
The goal of this guideline is to present biomimetic information processing to interested scientists and engineers as an alternative approach for solving information processing problems in technical systems. Biomimetic information processing is modeled on biological information processing in the nervous system of humans and animals, which is defined briefly in Section 3. This guideline concentrates on the aspects of biomimetic information processing that are relevant to applications. The design and performance of sensors are not dealt with.
