Annotation

This standard is addressed to businesses that withdraw vehicles from circulation and recycle them, as defined in AltfahrzeugV. It does not apply to businesses dealing with the repair of vehicles, with the objective of returning them to circulation.

It applies to vehicles whose intended purpose – to be used in road traffic – no longer applies, e.g. accident write-offs, test and pre-production vehicles and end-of-life vehicles.

The special requirements of industrial safety and of environmental protection are taken into account in the vehicles' preparation, draining, disassembly and storage.
