Annotation

This Standard specifies the safety requirements for the graders as defined in 3.1. The typical models to which this Standard is applied are shown in Annex A for reference.

This Standard is used together with JIS A 8340-1 in which the general safety requirements for earth-moving machinery are specified.

This Standard considers all significant hazards inherent in the graders, when they are used under the conditions intended and foreseen by the manufacturer (see Annex B and Annex 1 of JIS A 8340-1), and also provides concrete measures to remove or reduce the risks that can be generated by them.

NOTE: The graders traveling on highway shall conform to, in addition to the requirements of this Standard, the laws and regulations related to road traffic stipulated by the government and local governments.
