Annotation
Standard series VDI 3679 describes wet separation processes for air pollution control. Wet separators are used for the removal of solid, liquid and gaseous pollutants from gas streams. This is achieved by collecting the pollutants on a scrubbing liquid injected into the waste gas stream and separating them from the gas stream together with the scrubbing liquid. However, collection mechanisms for particles, gas molecules and droplets vary greatly.
