Annotation

This standard defines the sampling strategy for tape samples taken in accordance with VDI 3877 Part 1 from surfaces contaminated with fibrous dust. It also establishes the basic principles for evaluating measurement results with a view to deriving a course of action. This evaluation method is a convention.

Since there are regulations concerning the handling of asbestos and products containing asbestos, but not for other inorganic fibres, the measurement objectives and the course of action derived from the measurement results relate primarily to asbestos applications
