Foreword

This amendment to DIN 14811:2008-01 and DIN 14811/A1:2012-03 has been prepared by the DIN-Normenausschuss Feuerwehrwesen (FNFW) (DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection), Working Committee NA 031-04-04 AA Schlauche und Armaturen (SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 1 und WG 8).

Hoses as in this standard serve to convey fire extinguishing media. When empty, such hoses can be rolled or folded flat. This second revision of DIN 14811 was necessary to bring the standard up to the current state of technology.

The most important change is the subdivision of class 1 (uncovered hose) C and B hoses into three performance levels L1, L2 and L3 with regard to abrasion resistance.
