Annotation

Coverage. This specification covers minimum requirements for the design fabrication and plant testing of oilfield type oil and gas separators and/or oil-gas-water separators used in the production of oil and/or gas, and usually located at some point on the producing flow line between the wellhead and pipeline. Separators covered by this specification may be vertical, spherical, or single or double barrel horizontal.

Policy. Nothing contained in this specification is to be construed as granting any right, by implication or otherwise, for manufacture, sale, or use in connection with any method, apparatus, or product covered by letters patent, nor as insuring anyone against liability for infringement of letters patent. This specification is for the convenience of purchasers and manufactures in ordering and producing separators. It is not intended to inhibit purchasers and producers from purchasing and producing separators meeting specifications other than those contained herein, nor is it intended in any way to inhibit purchasers from purchasing separators from companies not authorized to use the API monogram.
