Annotation

This standard applies to all London Underground (LU) track including running lines depot track and sidings and to the vehicles that are approved to operate on this track

It applies to all platforms and to all structures and equipment both permanent and temporary which form the immediate boundary with the space provided for the passage of the rail vehicles using the Track

It includes requirements for Clearances between vehicles and structures, between vehicles on adjacent tracks and the dimensions required for places of safety

It includes requirements for

approval of Clearances prior to the commencement of works

checking of Clearances following work

routine inspection and maintenance of Clearances

assessment of Clearances for tunnel construction or rebuilds

Compliance with all of the supporting information in section 5 of this standard is mandatory

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the required Clearances and limiting dimensions of infrastructure and trains, and their management
