Annotation
All modules in this standard apply to the inspection and maintenance of all switches on running lines and sidings.
NOTE: This specification applies to all types of switch machining in both bullhead and flatbottom rail sections.
The scope of the standard excludes

Purpose
This standard details the inspection regime, monitoring procedures, immediate actions and essential maintenance to be undertaken at switches to control the risk of derailment and maximise asset life to deliver good operational availability.
