Form
This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of sheet, strip, and plate up to 4.000 inches (101.60 mm), inclusive, in thickness
Application
These products have been used typically for parts requiring strength up to 800 °F (427 °C) and where such parts may require welding during fabrication, but usage is not limited to such applications
Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stresscorrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
Classification Product supplied to this specification shall be classified as follows:
Type 1 - Product that has been ultrasonically inspected.
Type 2 - Product not requiring ultrasonic inspection.
Unless a specific type is ordered, Type 2 may be supplied.
