Annotation
This publication describes the technical and procedural requirements for classification of self-elevating units of a conventional design as covered by main class. Both the description of a conventional design and the scope of main class is further detailed in Ch.2.
This publication covers the involvement of class for a unit’s different phases during life time, i.e. design, construction, commissioning, delivery and operation.
The publication does not cover the requirements for separate additional class notations, nor the requirements for units of an unconventional design. These are detailed in DNVGL-RU-OU-0101.
This publication does not cover the requirements applicable for units drilling on a fixed platform.
