This test method covers the determination of soluble barium ion in brackish water, sea-water, and brines by atomic absorption spectrophotometry.

The actual working range of this test method is 1 to 5 mg/L barium.

This test method was used successfully on artificial brine samples. It is the user's responsibility to ensure the validity of this test method for waters of untested matrices.
