Annotation

This test method is a performance test, which measures the effectiveness of vertical strip drains on the time rates of consolidation of compressible soils from construction project sites.

It is expected that the design agency will be responsible for performing this test. It is not intended to be a manufacturer performed test.

This test method is applicable to all vertical strip drains.

The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
