Annotation

This standard deals with the construction of retaining walls, cut-off walls, barrettes and other structural members in trenches using support fluids. It includes the excavation of such trenches with the aid of support fluid, reinforcement, concreting and the insertion of elements into the trenches.

This standard also applies to the construction and removal of guide walls and the necessary earthwork.

This standard does not cover the construction of thin sheet pile walls in which soil is displaced by impact driving, pressing or vibration driving of piles (see DIN 18304) nor does it cover drilling with the aid of slurry (see DIN 18301).

DIN 18299, clauses 1 to 5 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, DIN 18313 shall take precedence.
