Annotation

This section of IEC 721-2 presents fundamental properties, quantities for characterization, and a description of environmental conditions in relation to the occurrence, development and spread of fire within a building, and relevant to electrotechnical products exposed to fire during stationary use.

This section is primarily concerned with conditions during the pre-flashover stage of a fire, but conditions following flashover are also dealt with.
