This International Standard defines the symbols and gives descriptions of the dimensions of bolts, screws, studs and nuts for use in the appropriate product standards and drawings.

NOTE 1 The figures of the fasteners in this International Standard are given only as examples.

NOTE 2 In addition to terms used in the three official ISO languages (English, French and Russian), this International Standard gives the equivalent terms in Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Swedish; these are published under the responsibility of the member bodies for China (SAC), Germany (DIN), Italy (UNI), Japan (JISC), Spain (AENOR) and Sweden (SIS), and are given for information only. Only the terms given in the official languages can be considered as ISO terms.
